Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was 90 years old this week. That makes her the longest reigning monarch in the UK and possibly the world.
Elizabeth II (Elizabeth Alexandra Mary; born 21 April 1926) is, and has been since her accession in 1952, Queen of the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, and Head of the Commonwealth. She is also Queen of 12 countries that have become independent since her accession: Jamaica, Barbados, the Bahamas, Grenada, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Belize, Antigua and Barbuda, and Saint Kitts and Nevis.
Elizabeth was born in London to the Duke and Duchess of York, later King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, and was the elder of their two daughters. She was educated privately at home. Her father acceded to the throne on the abdication of his brother Edward VIII in 1936, from which time she was the heir presumptive. She began to undertake public duties during World War II, serving in the Auxiliary Territorial Service. In 1947, she married Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, with whom she has four children: Charles, Anne, Andrew, and Edward.
With Game of Thrones Season 6 about to premier on the 24th April we thought it was time for another Quiz !!! Hope you find it fun !
Background on Game of Thrones –
The sixth season of the fantasy drama television series Game of Thrones was ordered by HBO on April 8, 2014, together with the fifth season, and is scheduled to premiere on April 24, 2016. In contrast to the previous seasons, it largely consists of original content not found in George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series, but also adapts material from the upcoming sixth novel in the series, The Winds of Winter, as well as some content from the fourth and fifth novels, A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons.
Beyond the wall, Bran Stark has been training with the Three-Eyed Raven, having last appeared in the season four finale episode “The Children”. According to an interview conducted with Isaac Hempstead Wright about Bran’s plot line in season six, the training largely expands his previous ability to see into the past and future, and allow him more control to piece things together. He also discovers his role in the wars to come.
Near the Dothraki Sea, after being surrounded by the khalasar of Khal Jhaqo, Daenerys Targaryen is taken captive and discovers that the Dothraki have certain traditions for widows of fallen Khals. In an interview with Emilia Clarke, she stated of Daenerys’s plot line, “She’s learning the last lesson she needs to learn. There’s just few remnants of being a human being she’s shaking off.”
In King’s Landing, Jaime Lannister has returned to Cersei Lannister with the body of their daughter Myrcella, and the two must work together to overcome the rising influence of the Faith Militant and the High Sparrow.
In Meereen, Tyrion Lannister, accompanied by Varys, Grey Worm, and Missandei, will strive to keep order and manage the city using “Westeros-style politics” to prevent it from falling into chaos following the departure of Daenerys.
At Winterfell, Ramsay Bolton and his forces are in pursuit of Sansa Stark and Theon Greyjoy, following their escape at the end of the last season.
The Best Goalkeepers In The World – With the end of the football season fast approaching, there are important positions to be secured in hundreds of leagues around the world. There is also Euro 2016 approaching with players competing to make their national sides, and as always there will be WINNERS and LOSERS, MOVERS and SHAKERS over the summer before the next season starts.
Share your views in our quiz to select our Best Goalkeepers in the World. To be the Best Goalkeeper in the World is no easy task, what do you think of these as potential candidates –
– Keylor Navas
Four months is a long time in football. Back in August, Real Madrid fans were cursing their luck when a deal to sign David de Gea fell through; now, most of them are probably grateful the move didn’t come to fruition. Navas has stepped up to the plate tremendously well this term, often pulling off some outrageous saves to prevent Rafael Benitez from coming under even more pressure.
– Petr Cech
Never has a signing felt as obvious as Arsenal’s acquisition of Cech in the summer. The experienced gloveman found playing time hard to come by at Chelsea last season, but he’s provided everything Gunners supporters were hoping for this term: assuredness, leadership and downright good goalkeeping.
– Gianluigi Buffon
Like a fine Italian wine, the evergreen Buffon seems to get better with age. Honing in on his 38th birthday, Juventus and Italy’s No.1 still possesses sharp reflexes and a useful penchant for a clean sheet or two. Captained Juve to a domestic double and the Champions League final in 2014/15.
– Thibaut Courtois
It’s often said that foreign goalkeepers require a bedding-in period to adjust to the physicality of the Premier League, but Courtois looked confident in his new environment from the first minute of his debut in August 2014. He’s got even better since then, dominating his penalty area by catching crosses – punchers take note – and stopping plenty of shots that he has no right to stop.
– David de Gea
Manchester United fans probably haven’t been enjoying 2015/16 too much, but the first half of the season could have been even worse were it not for Real Madrid’s dodgy fax machine. A paperwork problem saw De Gea stay put at Old Trafford this summer, with his exploits between the sticks contributing greatly to United’s excellent defensive record.
– Manuel Neuer
Calling Neuer a goalkeeper does not really tell the whole story. The Bayern Munich shot-stopper has taken the role of sweeper-keeper to another level, with the 29-year-old regularly spotted closer to the halfway line than his own penalty box. He does do some excellent work in more conventional areas, though, and is well-deserving of his place in the overall top 10.

Who will win the Premier League? / Or is the question Will Leicester City win the Premier league?
With a 7 point lead at the top of the Premier League following their 1-0 win against Southampton today, Leicester City are on the verge of making history.
Lets remember at this time last season Leicester City were BOTTOM of the Premier League, now with a 7 point lead can the Foxes do it??
About Leicester City
Leicester City Football Club, also known as the Foxes, are an English professional football club based in Leicester at the King Power Stadium. They play in the Premier League, having been promoted as champions of the Football League Championship in 2013–14, signalling a return to the top flight of English football after a decade away.
The club was founded in 1884 as Leicester Fosse, playing on a field near Fosse Road. The name Leicester City was adopted in 1919.
They moved to Filbert Street in 1891 and played there for 111 years, before moving to the nearby Walkers Stadium in 2002. They renamed the stadium the King Power Stadium after a change of ownership in 2011.
Leicester City were elected to the Football League in 1894. The club’s highest ever finish was second place in the top flight, in Division One in 1928–29. The club holds a joint-highest seven second tier titles (six Second Division and one Championship), as well as one League One title. They have won the League Cup three times and have been FA Cup runners-up four times, a tournament record for the most defeats in the final without having won the competition. The club has only spent one season outside the top two tiers of English football, which was in the 2008–09 season, when they won the Football League One title.
Do you know the lyrics to these iconic British songs??
To give you a bit of help we have found a list of number-one hits by British artists in the United States on the Billboard Hot 100 (existent since August 3, 1958). The only British artist to have a pre-Hot 100 number one was Vera Lynn, with “Auf Wiederseh’n Sweetheart” holding the top spot for nine weeks starting from July 12, 1952.
With 20 number-one singles, the current most successful British act on the Billboard Hot 100 is The Beatles. They are followed by The Bee Gees and Elton John & Paul McCartney all of whom have had nine number-one singles on the chart. McCartney nine number ones are as a solo artist, in a group Wings and as duets with Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson. George Michael and The Rolling Stones have both had eight number one singles.
The 2016 UEFA European Championship, commonly referred to as UEFA Euro 2016 or simply Euro 2016, will be the 15th edition of the UEFA European Championship, the quadrennial international men’s football championship of Europe organized by UEFA. It is scheduled to be held in France from 10 June to 10 July 2016. Spain are two-time defending champions.
For the first time, the European Championship final tournament will be contested by 24 teams, having been expanded from the 16-team format used since 1996. Under this new format, the finalists will contest a group stage consisting of six groups of four teams, followed by a knockout stage including three rounds and the final. 19 teams (the top two from each of the nine qualifying groups and the best third-placed team) joined France who qualified automatically as hosts; a series of two-legged play-off ties between the remaining third-placed teams in November 2015 decided the last four spots at the final tournament.
France was chosen as the host nation on 28 May 2010, after a bidding process in which they beat Italy and Turkey for the right to host the 2016 finals. The matches will be played in ten stadia in ten cities: Bordeaux, Lens, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Nice, Paris, Saint-Denis, Saint-Étienne, and Toulouse. It will be the third time that France hosts the tournament, after the inaugural tournament in 1960 and the 1984 finals. The French team have won the European Championship twice: in 1984 and 2000.
Four bids came before the deadline at 9 March 2009. France, Italy and Turkey put in single bids while Norway and Sweden put in a joint bid. Norway and Sweden eventually withdrew their bid in December 2009.

BASHWORKZ.COM – Unix Administration Step by Step Tutorials, Guides, and Tips
Unix Administration – bashworkz.com is the personal blog site for Malcolm ‘MX’ Taylor. I have been a Unix Systems Administrator for 20 years now, and before that was a Systems Administrator on ICL mainframes for a further 6 years.
During my time as a systems administrator I have worked on old versions of DRS NX, Siemens Nixdorf Reliant OS, Unixware, and SCO Unix. The main Enterprise Unix Administration I have done, was on mission critical, high availability systems, for a bureau working at the London Stock Exchange, a High availability booking system for Cosmos Holidays (3rd largest Tour Operator in the UK), and JPA which is the Human Resources/Deployments/Training System for the UK Armed Forces. All of these used HPUX 11.00/11.11 and Solaris 8.
More recently in the last 8-10 years I have worked mainly on CentOS Linux on various hardware. I have worked in the UK and in Europe, covering various industries including Travel, Government, Gambling, as well as other online service applications. I also do a large amount of freelance work for customers across the USA, UK, Russia and Asia (all while speaking only English). This has exposed me to a wide range of different working environments, different technologies, different requirements that have all meant that I have had to work with an open mind, and to add as much flexibility in my coding and administration as possible to meet customer requirements. And most importantly, maintaining good communication and change control processes to minimise any disruption.
One of my aims with bashworkz.com is to share useful knowledge that will help make other System Admins lives easier. As one of my main roles has been bash scripting then you can expect to find a lot of step by step notes, tutorials, and guides so things I have faced. I cannot remember 20 years ago, so dont expect to see much from my HPUX or ICL mainframe days on the site!
I hope you find bashworkz.com interesting and useful now and in the future. You can also follow me on Twitter HERE
